The Barns
If you have always dreamed of a wedding venue in a beautiful country setting, with rustic charm and the ability to make it your own then Balfreish Barns is the perfect place. We want to offer you this beautiful venue where your imagination can take over. We prefer to host weddings during the summer months - the gardens and surrounds just look so much better in the warmer months, but we are sometimes open to persuasion! We provide the venue and as much or little help as required. We can recommend excellent local suppliers – from florists and cake makers to photographers and pipers and anything else in between.
The venue comes with extras such as barrels, old farm props, fire pits for toasting marshmallows, outdoor furniture and blankets just in case it gets chilly.
There is a beautiful spot in the garden, with an arch(roses in the summer) , for an outdoor ceremony with the Long Barn offering space for a plan B if the weather is poor.
You just need to add good food, drinks, music and of course, good friends.

The Long Barn - the Long Barn can seat up to 90 guests for a formal meal at long tables and is an ideal space for a Ceilidh or disco in the evening. It can also be used for the wedding ceremony if preferred. We can accommodate up to 140 guests if a less formal style of dining is chosen, i.e. BBQ, street food, hog roast, buffet etc
The Cow Shed - is an ideal quiet space where guests can mingle with a drink if the weather is particularly Scottish or they would just like some time out from the music!
Hamish’s Tavern - this old Bull Pen has been renamed after one of our dogs and as the name suggests is the bar area. Fridges are provided to keep drinks cold and there is a freezer to ensure lots of ice is on hand.
The Games Room - there is a pool table and darts board in this barn should any guests feel like playing some indoor games. It can also be used as a playroom or as an additional seating area should the weather not be so kind.
The Gardens
Within the gardens there are lots of beautiful photo opportunities as well as spots for your wedding ceremony. Around the barns there are half barrels filled with flowers to enhance the setting and numerous tables and seats/benches dotted around.
